Criminal Defense

If you have been charged with a criminal offense, felony or misdemeanor, you need to retain an attorney. The first thing you should remember of the “Miranda” Warning. That is, “Anything you say can and will be used against you.” In my 27 years of experience, that is the truth. Most criminal defendants are convicted by their own words. When you talk to the police officer, you are not likely to talk the office out of charging you. Most likely, you will give him the “verbal ammunition” he needs to charge and convict you.
The second thing you should remember is do not say anything without an attorney.
The third thing you should remember is “Get an attorney.”
That brings us to getting an attorney. If you cannot afford private legal counsel, you will be provided excellent legal counsel from the Montana Public Defenders Office. If you can afford private legal counsel, we would be happy to serve you. Michael Klinkhammer’s background includes years of successful legal defense. If you would like us to put that experience to work for you, please call or email for an appointment.
